Today I worked with my student Primoz. On Picea abies which Primoz collected two years ago we did a first step. It is a good material but not strong enough so I decided that full shaping would be too much for a tree. Such a material is too valuable to waste it with impatience. Instead we did a plan for a new project and did a first step: we cut all superfluous brunches (a little more then a third of green mass), we cleaned a crown letting light and air in, we worked on dead wood.
This Picea has a good nebari, good tapper, special story are jins, which at tachigari all are pointing in one direction. This speciality we'll use also in final design and we might name this tree Ankilosaurus ... The first step is done. We only prepared this tree for next step. If the tree will react good and will grow good during spring and summer then we'll do a next step at the end of next summer. Sometimes is better to be patient; this time for sure!
Če se bo dobro odzvalo in spomladi ter čez poletje dobro odgnalo, potem bo naslednji korak na vrsti konec prihodnjega poletja. Včasih se pač splača počakat, tokrat prav gotovo!
